Joseph Pail takes any opportunity to write antagonistically about another student. Most students (and teachers) are excited to see him graduate. He's a creep, and has made big efforts to date most of the underclassmen girls.

Joseph and Gwen dated between the publications of Volume II, Issue II and Volume II, Issue IV. He often made her uncomfortable, so she broke up with him. As revenge, Joseph published “Frog Freak Flies Down Hall of Boys Dorm 3rd Floor”, referenced in Apology to the Residents of the Boys Dorm 3rd Floor.

Joseph tried to pursue Aramé shortly after the publication of Volume II, Issue V. Angered by her refusal, he wrote The Actual Truth Behind the Chronicle as a slant at her.

Joseph clearly thinks lowly of Renaine. His article, Mustard Murked in Midnight Madness, infers that he is the Mustard Thief in question.
